Top Ten Books I Reluctantly Read And Then Loved

It's Top 10 Tuesday (hosted at The Broke and the Bookish) and the topic is
Top 10 Books I Reluctantly Read And Then Loved

1. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Yeah, SHOCK I know. I kind of get into shock when I think about it back then. But it was like that. I was really into Twilight. Like REALLY. And when I came back from my Erasmus in the summer of 2010, my mum told me about Vampire Academy. And I was like "Mum seriously? I'm into Twilight and NOTHING is going to change that" Something like that. I haven't pick it up the whole summer. And then in september my mum told me again to read it. She was like "Nea tha main character kind of reminds me of you." Huh? Ok, I give it a try. Little did I know. I became obsessed with Vampire Academy more than I was ever obsessed in my life. So yeah, now it's my favourite series EVER. Thanks to my mum :)

2. Firelight by Sophie Jordan
Ok weird I know, but I couldn't put myself into reading this book for months. I didn't have time, ok that's a lie.. Whenever I wanted to read a new book I always thought about other books, even if meanwhile I knew that I really need to read this one. Until a couple of days ago. And Oh My God!! I think I've been literally wasting my life contemplating if read this book or not. Ahh, thank God I had some common sense and took this book in my hands :)

3. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Well, Anna from @AnnaReads recommended me this series. I highly appreciate her judgment about books, so I knew this book must be great. But still!! The cover was.. black. Nothing special, I thought. And then I started reading.. And in the beginning, I was like "Huh? Is it just me or I kind of don't know what the book is about?" But I kept reading. And then it was like pooof!! Wooow it was amazing!! I couldn't stop reading!! It was totally awesome! And interesting and sad at the same time. I loved it!

4. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Well well, I've seen this book all around on every blog I visited. I liked the cover though. But I kind of didn't like the wolf thing. I wasn't really into wolves. I'm still not. But still I gave it a try to this series and in the end, I liked it. Wolves stories are not that bad like I used to think ;)

5. Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
My best friend recommended it to me. She doesn't read much (not at all, to be honest) so when she said she was literally in love with this book I said I need to read it! After 50 pages I couldn't understand how could she like a book like that. I mean, Darcy was a total jerk, Elizabeth's mother a total bitch.. Mahh. I left it at 50 pages for years. And then this year again after seeing it on all blogs I decided to revive it a try. I finished it. Well yeah, they were right, it is a good story ;)

6. If I Stay by Gayle Forman
This book was also one of the books I kept repeating myself to read it but never succeed until a couple of days ago. Stupid stupid stupid!! This book was amazing. So so painful, but so so amazing!! I love it <3

7. Forever by Maggie Stiefvater
Well, Linger wasn't one of my favourite books ever, so I was contemplating if reading the last book in the series at all. I usually finish what I started, so I decided to read the last book. And it was the best!! The dynamic between Isabel and Cole was PURE bliss! :) I loved that :)

8. The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson
Ok, this one is an exception. After reading 70 pages I couldn't put myself to read it to the end. Maybe I will someday. But I've found it weird because I loved both first and the second book of the series. I don't know..

Ok, honestly I don't know about any book to make 9 and 10. In school, we used to read books that were assigned as MUST read. We all hated them. Classics and stuff. But I must admit that some of them really were great. They are in Slovenian because of Slovenian authors. Now that I think about it, I actually can list two of them :P

9. Dogodek v Mestu Gogi by Slavko Grum
10. Na Klancu by Ivan Cankar

That's it!
What about you? What books are/aren't in your comfort zone? :)
