Two days before the start of her junior year, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner is hit by a pickup truck and killed—as in blinding light, scenes of her life flashing before her, and then nothing. Except the next thing she knows, she’s opening her eyes to find Ben Michaels, a loner from her high school whom Janelle has never talked to, leaning over her. And even though it isn’t possible, Janelle knows—with every fiber of her being—that Ben has somehow brought her back to life.
But her reincarnation, and Ben’s possible role in it, is only the first of the puzzles that Janelle must solve. While snooping in her FBI-agent father’s files for clues about her accident, she uncovers a clock that seems to be counting down to something—but to what? And when someone close to Janelle is killed, she can no longer deny what’s right in front of her: Everything that’s happened—the accident, the murder, the countdown clock, Ben’s sudden appearance in her life—points to the end of life as she knows it. And as the clock ticks down, she realizes that if she wants to put a stop to the end of the world, she’s going to need to uncover Ben’s secrets—and keep from falling in love with him in the process.

You know, I know I say things like this all the time, but seriously, THIS book so completely got me!! I was hocked! I couldn't put it down, I didn't want to go to work or sleep because I wanted to read so badly! ;)
The story is something I've never ever read about, and I read a lot. It's completely unique. And the main character Janelle is awesome! She is so strong and her will is admirable. She doesn't give up once, and she puts others always first. A really lovable character and I really connected with her!
Ben. Oh, the bad boy Ben. I like him. I like him a lot. Mysterious and somehow dangerous boy but underneath there is just a scared boy that feels lost and bears a lot of guilt in himself. But come on, there is nothing Janelle can't fix ;)
The writing was completely stunning! You should see how many bookmarks I have in this book. WOW. Really. The scenes were written perfectly. And the emotions too, you could practically feel how the characters felt in the book. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
A BIG 5-stars for this book and if you haven't read it yet, I dare you, to do it ASAP! ;) It's worth it ;)
I go out with a guy who, when he's being serious, is interesting and funny and sort of sweet. We get along well enough, too, but if I'm completely honest with myself, I don't see a future with him. I can't even see us together when school starts, let alone see myself trying to date him long-distance or go visit him when he's in college. And I know we just started dating, but isn't that what I should be imagining if I was really into him - isn't that part of the reason why people start to dating? Yet I choose to date him rather than hold out for someone I could love. Why? Because his ex-girlfriend is a bitch? Because he's pretty? Because it feels good to be liked? Because I don't want to date someone I really care about since it will hurt more when it ends? Since I'd have to try?
"Honor among cheaters?"
"It's just..." He sighs. "I don't always make the right decisions, and I get that." He shrugs. "But at the end of the day, I want to be able to look myself in the eyes and say I believe in them. I want to know I'd make each one again."
Lives are made of strings of moments, and every once in a while, one of those moments is pivotal and defining. It changes everything, alters you so completely that when you look back, there's a clear before and after.
