It's not a secret that Vampire Academy is my favourite series ever. And I think it's gonna be forever. But I've never written any review about the books, because honestly? I don't think I can manage to write 6 reviews that will do this book justice. I can't write that good. And that would be a shame!
So, I decided to write a list of 10 reasons why everyone should read the Vampire Academy series. Because it's a must! ;)
Rose Hathaway is the best main character ever. She is believable, strong, passionate, brave, she's kick-ass, and she has an attitude. She is completely unstoppable. And you just simply need to love her with all your heart.
2. Love interest - Dimitri
Awww, my heart always does a happy dance whenever the name Dimitri pops up. I've cried for this guy so badly while reading this series. Like sobbing like a crazy fan girl over a movie or something. Yes, Dimitri will make you into that kind of person. And you'll love every minute of it.
3. Friendship with Lissa
Vampire Academy series isn't just a love story. It's also a story about friendship greater than anything. Both Rose and Lissa are really invested into it and as a reader, you can feel that the friendship bond is genuine.
4. The storyline is incredible and unpredictable
Richelle Mead really did an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G job when she wrote this series. The story is so unique and good and everything you want it to be - and believe me, this is a rare thing to find these days. And the climax of the series? Got me sobbing and anxious for days before I got my hands on the next book. I was literally dying to have the next book in my hands.
5. The world Richelle Mead created is so compelling you'll be stuck in it and wouldn't want to leave, like ever
The world of Moroi, Dhampirs, and Strigoi is absolutely fabulous. We have 2 types of Vampires - good ones are Moroi, and the bad ones which are Strigoi. Strigoi kill people, Moroi, and Dhampirs and they are evil. Moroi can use magic. Dhampirs are half Moroi half human and are very strong, so they train to become guardians to guard the Moroi. They are pretty kick-ass!
6. The romance is so good your heart will beat faster for the whole time you'll be reading
Um, here I think a quote here should be appropriate.
“You're always fighting for control. You're the same as me.”
“No,” he said, still obviously worked up. “I've learned my control.”
Something about this new realization emboldened me. “No,” I informed him. “You haven't. You put on a good face, and most of the time you do stay in control. But sometimes you can't. And sometimes…” I leaned forward, lowering my voice. “Sometimes you don't want to.”
“Rose…”
“Rose…”
I could see his labored breathing and knew his heart was beating as quickly as mine. And he wasn't pulling away. I knew this was wrong—knew all the logical reasons for us staying apart. But right then, I didn't care. I didn't want to control myself. I didn't want to be good.
Before he realized what was happening, I kissed him. Our lips met, and when I felt him kiss me back, I knew I was right. He pressed himself closer, trapping me between him and the wall. He kept holding my hand, but his other one snaked behind my head, sliding into my hair. The kiss was filled with so much intensity; it held anger, passion, release...
He was the one who broke it. He jerked away from me and took several steps back, looking shaken.
“Do not do that again,” he said stiffly.
“Don't kiss me back then,” I retorted.

7. The action is kind of amazing
Like I said, Dhampirs are guardians and therefore they fight. And what a fight!! Your heart beats faster and the adrenaline rush has such a "Woaah" effect - it feels amazing.
8. The sarcasm and the humour in this series should get an Oscar or something
“I had a standing arrangement with God: I'd agree to believe in him—barely—so long as he let me sleep in on Sundays.”
9. The villains aren't always just the Strigoi. There is lots of suspense
Yeah, there are far more villains out there that I could have imagined. So you never really know from which part will it strike. Completely awesome!
10. The magic in this series is pure awesomeness
Yeah, Moroi can use magic. Elements like Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. But during the events, they discover that there is also a fifth element; Spirit. Which is very unknown and intriguing. And also, Rose, even if she isn't Moroi, she has super powers and you're gonna love them! I know I did!
Hope I convinced you to pick this series up! Believe me, it's worth it.
