This. This book. God, I hate endings like this. Thought I must admit that rare books leave me sobbing like this. Tears wouldn't come striking down my eyelashes, but God, my eyes were full of them and I was sobbing. How can you build a story like that and then leave me completely shattered and pained so much it literally hurt? This is what the ending of The Eternity Cure feels like.
I loved Allie in The Immortal Rules, but I must admit in this second instalment she rocked as well! She was fierce and powerful and strong and full of courage. Going through all this madness to save Kanin, I must admit was pretty impressive. And pair with Jackal? These two were hilarious. I started to love Jackal in this book quite a lot - he made me laugh my ass off.
Zeke. Woah, well that was a surprise. Our favourite guy from the first instalment made sure to make an impressive and quite shocking appearance in this one. Haven't seen it coming. But nonetheless, I was so so happy that he did! I missed him. And in this book he is even more strong and composed and totally badass.
The eternity cure is packed with action. Though, this time around our favourite characters are fighting vampires and other creatures. The rabids are still present, but not really a big threat like they were in the first book. The eternity cure started off a little slow, but the ending sure as hell, made it worth it. And the romance! Definitely the romance.
So, if you still haven't started this awesome vampire serie, I suggest you to do it soon, because it's really, really good. Fast paced, full of action, complicated romance and a question of morality toward humanity and giving in to your inner instincts for blood - The eternity cure will not disappoint you!
"There are no good choices, Allison," Kanin offered in a quiet voice. "There are only those you can live with, and those you can work to change."
I dropped my head into my hands, feeling Zeke's cross press against my skin, and sobbed. For myself, for Zeke, for this stupid, screwed-up world we were born into. For lost chances and unsaid words, and fro the hope that seemed so bright and certain one moment, but so easily snuffed out the next.
Allie. I sobbed right there with you.
